Walk of Life

Mary Harris (lead vocals and keyboard) explains that “Walk Of Life” is a song about her son Burleigh McDowall Drummond (Micky). Mary started writing it when he was 10,000 miles away traveling in India, after graduating from college. He decided to experience traveling to fulfill his musical and adventurous curiosity. The first verse is from the mom’s point of view and the second verse is from the traveler’s point of view. The song metaphorically portrays many people’s walks of life. But it was definitely a song that was very therapeutic to Mary at that time, being the first journey he ventured out into the world by himself.
